Petra to Wadi Rum Ride - Equestrian Adventure
Per person
An extraordinary equestrian adventure holiday riding from Petra to Wadi Rum desert! This 9 night's trip which includes a 6 day progressive ride through a significantly changing landscape ranging from the cultivated agricultural land and rolling sand and gravel hills in the area around Petra, to flat open desert dotted with spectacular sandstone rocks of Wadi Rum. A full day in Petra and one full day to swim, float and relax at the Dead Sea!
Itinerary
| Day 1 | Welcome to Jordan, airport pick up. |
| Day 2 | Transfer south on the Desert Highway for about 3 hours to reach the Nabataean Rose Red city of Petra and spend the rest of the day exploring this magnificent site. |
| Day 3 |
Meet the horses and set off riding towards the plateau where there are views of the tortuous canyons that surround Petra. |
| Day 4 | Ride east, through curious little canyons and across the plateau following the ancient Spice Route. |
| Day 5 |
Ride towards the agricultural village of Disi over the famous flats (Al Ga’a) perfect for a long exhilarating canter. Afternoon ride through the spectacular cliffs of Barrah Canyon. |
| Day 6 | Cross a wide valley, ride south east towards Burdah Mountain and get a good view of the famous Rock Bridge followed by a nice slow and long ride south towards the Saudi border, Wadi Saabit, and camp next to Jabal Um Adami, Jordan's highest peak. |
| Day 7 | Ride north west along nice hard tracks for nice long canters reaching Jabal Kattar. |
| Day 8 | Ride through the main valley of Wadi Rum stopping at the narrow siq (canyon) of Jabal Khazali. We then pass Lawrence's spring and continue north towards the stables in Rum village. |
| Day 9 | Full day to swim, float and relax at the Dead Sea. |
| Day 10 |
Airport transfer and departure. |
